There is an increasing awareness of psychological ill health and the impact it has on people. There has also been removal of the stigma associated with those seeking psychological support with more people than ever requesting help. Counselling psychology has been specifically geared to address the gaps in the healthcare system by providing an arena where people can seek help.
I am a Chartered Counselling Psychologist with over twenty years of experience working in forensic and acute mental health within the NHS and the private sector. I adopt an integrative approach with my work employing techniques drawn from Schema Focussed, Cognitive Behavioural, Family Systemic and Acceptance and Commitment therapies. I am also trained in Dialectical Behavioural Therapy and have worked for many years with clients diagnosed with personality disorders. My particular specialist areas include personality disorder, trauma, couples work, body and image dysmorphia, depression and anxiety disorders.
